Richard C. Eggertsen Obituary

Richard C. Eggertsen

Visalia - Richard was born on July 24, 1933, in Philadelphia, where his father, Mr. Paul Eggertsen was teaching at Temple University. In 1942, Mr. Eggertsen accepted a teaching position at Layola Marymount University and moved his family to Los Angeles. After graduating from Layola, Richard received his MA from USC. He taught at Exeter High for 26 years. Richard was a very athletic man, running with his friends every morning, cycling in the foothills, and playing lots of tennis at the Racquet Club. He especially enjoyed playing in tournaments and was a very good player. He also enjoyed good books and great music. His special interest through the years was history. He traveled extensively through the USA and Europe in search of places where things happened. Friends will remember him as a man of intelligence and wit with a great sense of humor. Richard is survived by his wife Donna, who will always be grateful for the 48 wonderful years she shared with him. A Graveside Service will be held at 9 AM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Visalia District Cemetery. A memorial tribute may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
